Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured suck opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Tired at the end of Week 2

a wonderful, end of winter cold? check.
a nice long sick day? check.
a new pair of biking shorts? check.
finally... week 2 is over!

I'm tired. I fought a cold all week, missed two days of working out, and didn't sleep hardly enough.

If you don't hear anything else when you are training for something, hear THIS: SLEEEEEEEP!

Here were my works outs this week:
Sunday: 45 min bike ride. 5 minute intervals and mod-high resistance
Monday: Sick :(
Tuesday: Sick :(
Wednesday: Swim! Today, I just wanted to see if I could do it. I warmed up (300 yards), 50 yards with a kickboard. Then I did my main session of 600 yards straight and it took me about 14:30. Then I did a cool down with some pull-ups at the deep end and and nice slow 100 yards. (Total: 1050 yards) I followed this with a biking workout of about 20 minutes, just to keep my workouts well rounded for the week.
Thursday: 15 minute warm-up on treadmill. Sprint drills in the gym, including lunges with medicine ball. A few back lifting exercises, too. LOTS of stretching.
Friday: Swim! WU: 10x50 descending and 200 drill. Main session: 4x200, 100 with kickboard (pull-ups-hands both directions 25 ea.), CD: 200 slow. (Total: 1800 yards)
Saturday: 6 mile run. On the most beautiful sunny day we've had in a long time :) And I got sunburned on my nose! Someone asked me if I went tanning today and it made me so happy because spring is almost here!!
Sunday: DAY OFF. Sweatpants ALL afternoon :)
